She's Gone

No more kisses, no more hugs
No more “Bye Mom, have a good day,”
No more “I love you.”

My heart longs for her.
I cry tears of sadness.

It feels as if she was taken too soon.
And there's no one who can take her place.

She loved me and believed in me
So I must continue what we started

She had such strength and endured so much.
I'm grateful for the time that God gave us.

The time that was needed, was given.
I'm at peace with that.

Being by her side helped me to grow
It opened my eyes to what's real.

So many memories even in her sickness
That I will cherish forever.

The woman that gave me life is gone
Yet, my life I must live.

One day at a time
Continuing the legacy that she left behind.

She fought her fight
Now I must finish mine.

  1. What a legacy, an Icon for you I and your siblings. The Greatest woman you will ever know. All the greats have their struggles in life but their greatness over shaddowed their struggles and so it is with this Icon, this beacon of a woman. Great ones are suppose to leave those behind feeling a lost but at the same time empowered by the strength of their legacy. and that is what we now have received from the life and legacy of your mother, my love at her best and my sparring partner at her worst, and a woman of uniqueness. As you now embark on your own personal journey you will always have the power of God on your side and the legacy of your mother with you to finish your course. Our pain is our gain, we really haven't lost her we've been blessed by her and the pain that we feel is the evidence of that fact. What a beautiful video you have put together. I'm impressed by the gifts that God has blessed you with. I pray that you hold in to your pain as I do, it is a gift of her love to us:).
    As always MUCH LOVE, Dad.

    1. Yes, she was a strong woman and it took this trial for me to see the whole picture. Love you.
